PAINTING SERIES: (please use the red scroll bar on the right to find additional information on each series) - - ENTHUELLEN SERIESThis series explores the use of surface wreckage, to represent the remants of moments. I will take extreme time finding the articles of remnants that I collage upon my canvas, sometimes even creating my own paper remnants from scratch by using a variety of mixed media (ink washes, graffiti, acrylic paint), that I will scratch, beat, and coat the surface with. - - ROBOT SERIESThis Series takes root from the failure of emotional expression. It poses the question, How would a robot, which is created to be "perfect", express "imperfect" things like emotions? How would they show love, mystique, lust, hate? I sought to use simple monotoone colors, to express emotional meaning, e.g. red for anger or love, black for death or control, white for rebirth; as well as simple shapes, the perfect circle marred by imperfect smaller hand drawn circles (e.g. a break down of certainity), slashed overall by heavy strokes of black or white. - - FIRECRACKER SERIESThis series explores the meaning of death. From the "Entry" of a bullet wound, to its "Exit". Life in all of its glorious colors often marred by the darkness that surrounds us.
